Mobility - Ramps

Mobility ramps provide the function of making inaccessible areas, both inside and outside, the home accessible to mobility device users.

Mobility Ramps are designed for all types of wheelchairs, power chairs and scooters, ramps can be interior or exterior, permanent or portable. There are a wide variety of options from which to choose based on your specific needs and requirements.

Mobility Ramps are available in a range of types – Single-Fold Ramps, Multi-Fold Ramps, Threshold Ramps, Roll-Up Ramps, Van Ramps and Solid Ramps.

To assist you consider your options and determine the type of access ramp, which will best meets your requirements, we have outlined below some of the basic features of mobility ramps.

  • Modular Ramps: Custom-made for permanent or semi-permanent placement, these wheelchair ramps are built specifically to accommodate access points and may include platforms, integral landings, self-contained leveling systems, supports, wheels, flanges, and handrails.
  • Threshold Ramps: Help wheelchair or scooter users to traverse uneven or rough surfaces such as doorways and other raised areas, these ramps can be installed permanently or moved from one location to another.
  • Folding, Portable Ramps: Usually constructed of aluminum, these ramps are designed for maximum portability. They have single or multiple hinged folds that allow them to be easily stored, carried and then set up when and where needed.
  • Telescoping Wheelchair Ramps: These ramps usually feature two fitted platform sections that slide against each other, and are designed to adjust to different lengths to accommodate various types and sizes of inclines.
  • Track Ramps: Track ramps come in a range of sizes (some with telescoping features) and are designed with “tracks” to align with the wheels of a wheelchair.
  • Van Access Ramps: Van ramps are designed to provide side or back door access to a mobility van. They can be manual or electronically operated and are normally made of aluminum with a nonskid surface.
  • Prices for Ramps can start for as little as $40, with more complex Van Ramps costing in the region of $700-800.
